Welcome to the Tiwahe Lodge website, especially to Ordeal Candidates and existing members. If you are an Ordeal Candidate, we welcome you, and we encourage you to complete your Ordeal as soon as possible. If you are a member, we hope you are an active Arrowman.
We invite you to click around our website. The information here is for you.
OA CHAPTERS AND MEETINGS
Tiwahe Lodge is chartered by the San Diego-Imperial Council. Scouts who join the Order of the Arrow in San Diego-Imperial Council are members of the Tiwahe Lodge. They are also members of a Chapter. There are nine Chapters within the Tiwahe Lodge. The Chapters are loosely overlayed on the Districts in the San Diego-Imperial Council, and most Arrowmen join the Chapter that is associated with their District. Click Tiwahe Chapters to find the Chapter for your District, its meeting schedule and meeting location. Click the Calendar for a consolidated view of meeting and event dates.
LODGE EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE MEETINGS
Executive Committee meetings are conducted monthly, usually on the second Monday. All OA youth leaders and advisers are encouraged to attend.
OUTINGS AND SPECIAL EVENTS
Several outings and special events are held each year.
OA Scouts and Scouters are kept informed by email, by website, and by our online Calendar. Events are posted on our online Calendar and on our home page.
Certain parts of OA meetings are reserved for Arrowmen only. Visitors are welcome at the general sessions.
OA dues are $11 per year. Additional Arrowmen in a family pay $9 per year, and only one newsletter is mailed to a household. For new Ordeal members, dues for the first year are included in the Ordeal fee.
SAFE SCOUTING POLICY
OA follows the Boy Scouts of America Guide to Safe Scouting. All adult leaders must submit to a background check and complete Youth Protection Training. All youth and adults must abide by the policies set forth in this guide, which include no corporal punishment, no hazing, no secret organizations, no one-on-one adult-youth meetings, activity-appropriate attire, age-appropriate activities, etc.
THE ROLE OF OA PARENTS
We encourage the parents of OA Scouts to assist their sons in participating in OA Events and Activities. Like Scouting, OA depends on the support of the parents.
Arrowmen wear Class A uniforms to OA meetings and Class B attire to most outdoor activities.
